Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Cody Core is now a member of the New York Giants, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Bengals waived Core on cut-down day after deciding between him and Josh Malone. He was the only one of 21 players waived Saturday ineligible for the practice squad.
Those Giants saw Core up close and personal during the preseason, where he caught four passes for 36 yards. He’s a standout on special teams who was still coming into his own within the offense before a new coaching staff arrived and starting making changes.
Core was a sixth-round pick by the Bengals in 2016 and caught 59 passes in 35 games.
