Report: Giants believe Daniel Jones can become an ‘upper-echelon quarterback’

The New York Giants, from head coach Joe Judge to general manager Dave Gettleman to co-owner John Mara, have remained in lockstep when it comes to quarterback Daniel Jones.

Despite the outside noise, the Giants have faith in their 2019 first-round pick and believe he has not only demonstrated significant improvement, but will eventually lead them to the promised land.

Still, critics of Jones seem convinced that all the praise is little more than window dressing. But ESPN’s Jordan Raanan is here to put an end to that.

Raanan reports that the Giants firmly believe Jones can be an “upper-echelon quarterback.”

Jones is their guy, multiple team and league sources reiterated to ESPN over the past few weeks. And while the organization’s brass, from the top down, believes Jones has what it takes to be a successful upper-echelon quarterback, they are knowingly taking this leap of faith with their fingers crossed after inconsistent results during his first two professional seasons.

Although this latest report is unlikely to sway those who refuse to believe that the Giants are committed to Jones, it’s further evidence that the organization is genuine in their praise of the 23-year-old.

For the Giants, the goal remains the same: surround Jones with as many talented playmakers as possible, shore up the offensive line and let the young QB lead them back to the Super Bowl.
