Report: Gerald McCoy’s next visit is with Panthers

It turns out defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will make a visit to a third team as his free-agency tour continues.

It just won’t be with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly making a run at free agency’s biggest prize, according to Joe Person of The Athletic: “McCoy has already visited Cleveland and Baltimore, but left both teams without a contract. The Panthers are hoping they can get a deal done with McCoy, who would give them a proven interior pass rusher to pair with Kawaan Short.”

McCoy went on a visit with the Cleveland Browns, took the holiday weekend off, then got involved with the Baltimore Ravens. It was hard to see him not choosing one of those two teams, but McCoy shouldn’t be in any rush.

The Bengals were rumored to have an interest in McCoy and he appeared to like the idea of them. But if that’s the case, the Panthers have come in with noteworthy interest to the point they have become his third stop.
