Free agent offensive tackle Dieugot Joseph signs with Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have signed free agent offensive tackle Dieugot Joseph, according to his agent.

The team has not officially announced the news as of yet.

The Houston Chronicle previously reported that Joseph was brought in for a visit with the Washington Reskins earlier this week, as well as Atlanta.

Joseph (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) is the latest new face to join an offensive line group that has been radically turned over since the last time the Falcons were on the field.

Joseph has been mostly a practice squad player since he came into the league a few years ago, splitting time with the Bears, Ravens, Vikings and Jets. He has an uphill battle ahead of him to make the 53-man roster.

Update:

Atlanta has confirmed the Joseph news, per the team website. To make room for him, they released OT Devon Johnson. They also added another lineman to the mix, former Cowboys defensive end Austin Larkin.
