Report: Free agent DL Allen Bailey visiting Falcons today

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, free agent defensive lineman Allen Bailey is visiting with the Falcons today. Bailey has spent his entire career with the Chiefs after getting picked by them in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft.

In 102 career games in the pros, he has posted 19.5 sacks, 33 quarterback hits and 34 tackles for a loss.

Most players start slowing down when they approach 30 years old, but Bailey seems to be aging well. He had his best year yet in 2018, totaling a career high six sacks.

The Falcons recently picked up an extra $6.45 million in salary cap room when offensive tackle Ryan Schraeder’s release became official. That’s about all the room they have leftover, though. According to Over the Cap, Atlanta has just $6.51 million available for 2019.
