Report: Former Warriors guard Ky Bowman agrees to deal with Los Angeles Clippers

Near the start of the NBA’s free-agent period, the Golden State Warriors waived reserve guard Ky Bowman after one season in the Bay Area.

After going undrafted out of Boston College, Bowman joined Golden State’s 2019 preseason training camp. Bowman impressed during his debut campaign in the association, averaging 7.4 points on 41.7% shooting from the field with 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per contest.

Although Bowman began the season on a two-way deal, his contract was converted into a multi-year NBA deal in early February.

As Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dealt with significant injuries in the backcourt, Bowman started 12 games for Golden State as a rookie.

With a steady rookie season on his resume, Bowman’s free-agent window didn’t last long. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the 6-foot-1 guard is signing a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

After spending his first season in the association with Curry, Thompson and Steve Kerr, Bowman will have the opportunity to learn from veteran guards like Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley and Tyronn Lue in Los Angeles.

Bowman will likely compete against Terance Mann and rookie Jordan Ford for one of the final spots in the Clippers’ backcourt.
