Report: Former Vikings DC George Edwards to join Cowboys

After six seasons as the defensive coordinator as the Vikings, George Edwards is heading to join the Cowboys to work with the linebackers, per Clarence Hill Jr.

George Edwards is joining Cowboys staff and will work with linebackers. Role will be larger than that, per source

Edwards’ contract wasn’t extended this offseason.

There will be some familiarity for Edwards in Dallas. Edwards was a linebackers coach with the Cowboys from 1998-2001.

The Vikings haven’t filled the vacancy at defensive coordinator yet.
