Report: Former Titans WR Tajae Sharpe to sign with Vikings

Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tajae Sharpe has reportedly found a new home in free agency.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Sharpe is going to sign a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Sharpe was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2016 but saw his role diminish with the team after a strong rookie season.

After catching 41 passes for 522 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie campaign, Sharpe went on to total 51 catches for 645 yards and six touchdowns combined in 2018 and 2019.

Sharpe missed the entire 2017 season with a foot injury.

Despite the fact that he wasn’t utilized a lot in 2019, mostly thanks to the additions of A.J. Brown and Adam Humphries, Sharpe did come up with some big touchdown grabs for Tennessee during the season.

But the writing was on the wall that Sharpe would move on this offseason, as he likely desired a more prominent role in an offense. At best, Sharpe was the fifth option in the passing game for Tennessee.

Now he’ll move on to Minnesota and try to assume the role left behind by Stefon Diggs, who was traded to the Buffalo Bills last week. Whether or not he locks that role down entirely remains to be seen.
