Things may not have ended perfectly between the Tennessee Titans and current free agent wide receiver Rishard Matthews, but he’s got a new opportunity on the table now.
According to a report from SB Nation’s John Hendrix, Matthews is practicing with the New Orleans Saints on a tryout basis.
The 29-year-old played in 87 regular season games between the Titans, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins.
On his career, he’s reeled in 230 receptions for 3,160 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns.
With the Titans alone, Matthews recorded 121 catches for 1,751 yards, averaging 14.5 yards per reception over 33 appearances. He spent three years with the team.
Matthews has the ability to fit in will within the New Orleans receiving corps, but only time will tell if he’s able to find a place on the team’s roster for the upcoming 2019 season.
