Report: Malik McDowell suspended for 2 games

Former Seattle Seahawks defensive end Malik McDowell has never played a snap on a professional football field, yet he is already suspended for the first two weeks of the 2019 regular season, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

McDowell has had a number of run-ins with the law, with his most recent charges stemming from two incidents in Mighican this past year.

McDowell was first stopped on suspicion of DUI last February after officers noticed erratic driving. An altercation during the arrest led to additional charges of assault and resisting arrest. In an unrelated case, he was later arrested and charged with receiving and concealing stolen property.

Following his release from the Seahawks in March, McDowell became a free agent, free to sign with any team in the league. His only reported visit was with the Cowboys earlier this spring.

The Seahawks’ highest draft pick in 2017, McDowell never played a game for Seattle. He was injured during an ATV accident shortly before training camp that year and was never medically cleared to play for the Seahawks.
