Report: Former Redskins LB Will Compton lands with Saints

Former Washington Redskins linebacker Will Compton returns to the NFC thanks to a deal with the New Orleans Saints.

As seen above, that deal was reported by ESPN’s John Keim.

Compton, 29, joined the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and was called up off the practice squad late that season. He ended up spending five seasons with the team before joining the Tennessee Titans for a year.

The Redskins likely wouldn’t mind to have a player like Compton right now with Reuben Foster down, Mason Foster gone and guys like Shaun Dion Hamilton nursing issues.

That said, Compton’s market was going to pick up eventually and the Saints made the move in response to injury issues of their own.
