Report: Former Ohio State POY Evan Turner to be traded to Atlanta Hawks

Former Ohio State Big Ten and national Player of the Year Evan Turner appears to be on the move again. According to several reports, he is reportedly being traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news, but several other sites and sources have since corroborated it. The Blazers will get Kent Bazemore in return according to sources Wojnarowski sites.

Turner spent three seasons with the Portland Trailblazers, averaging just eight points and less then four rebounds per game. He routinely came off the bench and never really became as big a part of the team as he would have liked.

Turner took to Instagram to thank players and fans alike.

“To my teammates: we did a lot of great things together,” said Turner. “We overcame a lot because we were a true team and we persevered together. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. The sky is the limit.

“To the Blazers organization: Thank you for allowing me to come to work in a positive environment! I was able to make a lot of bonds beyond basketball with the coaching staff and all the people behind the scenes. First class place that will only keep reaping the benefits of good karma.

”Last but not least, THANKS FOR THE CHEESE.”

We all wish Turner well in his future with the Hawks.
