REPORT: Former Jags RB T.J. Yeldon visited the Patriots Wednesday

Recently signed tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins seemingly isn’t the only former Jacksonville Jaguar the New England Patriots have be eyeing to snag up as one of their former tailbacks has received interest from the world champions, too. Per ESPN’s Field Yates, the Patriots also brought T.J. Yeldon in for a visit Wednesday alongside former Houston Texans receiver Demaryius Thomas.

The market seemed to be quiet for Yeldon to begin free agency, however, if the Patriots are the lone team to show interest in him, that’s certainly a win on his part. In 2018, he was able to make plays as a rusher, but his abilities as a receiver is what would make him a very dangerous weapon for the Patriots as he was able to haul in 55 catches for 487 yards (fourth on the team) and four receiving touchdowns (second on the team).

Yeldon spent four seasons with the Jags after being drafted by them in the second-round of the 2015 NFL Draft (No. 36 overall) out of Alabama. Heading into the 2018 season many thought Yeldon could make a case to be re-signed by the Jags after having a good 2017 campaign, however, he ended his 2018 season on bad terms with the front office after showing his disinterest in Week 17’s season finale on the sidelines.
