Report: Former Georgia LB Brenton Cox makes transfer decision

Brenton Cox, the former Georgia football linebacker and five-star Class of 2018 prospect, has reportedly made a transfer decision.

According to Swamp247, Cox visited Gainesville, Florida on Thursday and enrolled at the university later that day while also participating in practice.

Though the sophomore was thought to be sliding on the Bulldogs’ depth chart, he will certainly help a Gators squad that lost plenty of talent to the portal as well throughout the offseason.

Remarkably, it seems Coach Dan Mullen has figured out there is another side to the transfer portal and landed his first five-star player in the Swamp, though the Dawgs had already moved on from Cox.

The social media streams are sure to be filled with more talking coming from the Florida fan base this afternoon and 1980 jokes will definitely be made.

Buckle up folks, the Gator fans are going to let all of Dawg Nation hear it on “history” and a “closing of the gap,” but that’s ok because it’s been 1,014 days since Florida beat Georgia on a football field.

However, we do wish Cox the best with the Gators and look forward to more heat being added to an already historic rivalry this season.
