Falcons punter Matt Bosher had been dealing with injuries all season before landing on the injured-reserve list earlier this week. After bringing in Matt Wile to replace Bosher, Wile suffered a quad injury.
This compelled Atlanta to bring in yet another punter/kickoff specialist on Thursday. Kasey Redfern will sign with the team’s practice squad and reportedly be active for Sunday’s game, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Redfern has just one career regular-season punt for 50 yards back with the Detroit Lions in 2017. He will most likely handle the team’s kickoff duties as well against the Cardinals in Week 6.
