Report: Falcons sign Virginia WR Olamide Zaccheaus

The first undrafted free agent signing of the day is here. The Atlanta Falcons have signed former Virginia wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, according to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network.

Much like the team’s sixth-round draft pick Marcus Green, Zaccheaus is another undersized hybrid running back/wide receiver weapon at 5-foot-8, 190 pounds. In 40 college games, he totaled 250 catches, 2,753 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. On 79 carries, he managed 551 yards and two scores.

Zaccheaus could also be in the mix for the kick returner competition along with Green, Kenjon Barner and Justin Hardy. He had 35 kickoff return attempts in college, totaling 686 yards.

If he doesn’t make the team, then the Falcons could look to stash him on the practice squad with his former college quarterback Kurt Benkert.
