According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the Falcons have signed former Raiders fullback Keith Smith to a one-year deal.
Smith originally played linebacker for the Cowboys, but he switched to fullback in 2016. In 63 career regular season games, he’s posted 69 rushing yards.
Atlanta is loaded in the backfield for this year. One of the biggest surprises on the roster was the decision to carry five running backs plus fullback Ricky Ortiz, who is likely on his way out after this move.
When Smith is on the field, expect him to be a lead blocker for Devonta Freeman.

The team has confirmed Smith’s signing and waived Ortiz.
