Report: Falcons first-round pick Chris Lindstrom signs rookie deal

The Falcons have now signed all of their picks from the 2019 NFL draft. According to a report by Vaughn McClure at ESPN, first-round pick Chris Lindstrom has agreed to terms with the team.

As with all first-round picks, both Lindstrom and offensive tackle Kaleb McGary will have fifth-round options on their contracts, which is part of the reason Thomas Dimitroff traded up to No. 31 for McGary in the first place.

While he was considered a reach pick by many analysts, Lindstrom was the unquestioned consensus top guard in the 2019 class. Since the draft, it’s been reported that the Bengals might have taken him as high as No. 11 if the board fell a certain way.

Lindstrom is projected to start at right guard as a rookie and then eventually replace Alex Mack at center when he retires from the NFL. Mack is 33 years old and is under contract through the 2020 season.
