Report: Falcons DB Damontae Kazee is day-to-day with rib injury

The Falcons suffered three injuries in yesterday’s preseason loss to the Jets. Defensive back Damontae Kazee hurt his rib early on making a tackle, rookie cornerback Kendall Sheffield injured his hamstring on special teams and wide receiver Russell Gage was carted off after landing at an awkward angle on his hip.

At least one of those injuries does not sound serious. According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, Kazee is considered day-to-day with his injury and he did not suffer a fracture.

This backs up what head coach Dan Quinn told reporters after the game. He said they could confirm that neither Gage nor Kazee suffered any broken bones.

Hopefully an update will be coming from Quinn today.
