Report: Falcons add former Seahawks assistant to offensive staff

The Atlanta Falcons continue to borrow concepts and hire coaches from the Seattle Seahawks. According to a report by Jason Butt at the Athletic, Atlanta has hired Will Harriger as an offensive assistant. Harriger got started with the organization five years ago and has been Seattle’s assistant quarterbacks coach since the 2016 season. The Seahawks were Harriger’s first pro team but he had extensive college experience before that.

There’s no official word from the team as of yet but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has also reported the hiring.

Russell Wilson was of course already a solid Super Bowl-winning quarterback before Harriger joined Pete Carroll’s staff, but it will be interesting to see if he has any influence on Matt Ryan’s game.

Harriger joins a revamped offensive staff under former/current coordinator Dirk Koetter, who took over for Steve Sarkisian.
