Report: Ezekiel Ansah to start training camp on Seahawks active roster

The Seattle Seahawks got a bit of good news on Wednesday, with a report by NFL insider Tom Pelissero indicating defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) will be on the active roster at the start of training camp.

This is in line with what Pete Carroll said back in June when he noted Ansah’s shoulder was healed but that the team doesn’t have any plans to rush him back.

The Seahawks signed the 30-year-old pass rusher after a successful six-year run with the Lions. Ansah racked up 48.0 sacks and 110 quarterback hits while in the Motor City, although injuries hampered him considerably in 2018 when he only suited up in seven contests.

Ansah is expected to be fully healthy by the start of the regular season, and his presence will be crucial for a Seahawks defense that lost Frank Clark and will be without Jarran Reed for the first six games of the season following his suspension.
