Report: Ex-Colts S Clayton Geathers visiting Cowboys

The Indianapolis Colts have expressed interest in re-signing safety Clayton Geathers, but they are also allowing him to test the market in free agency.

As the market calms down following the first wave of free agency, Geathers will have his first reported visit with the Dallas Cowboys, per Field Yates of ESPN.

The top-end market for the safety position is drying up following the big names becoming unavailable. Geathers is a quality player that has a big impact playing near the line of scrimmage.

General manager Chris Ballard has constantly shown how much appreciation he has for Geathers, who has dealt with injuries throughout the majority of his career.

The Colts could still re-sign Geathers for depth purposes, but he will be testing the market with the safety-needy Cowboys.
