Report: Ex-Colts RB Robert Turbin to visit Raiders

Former Indianapolis Colts running back Robert Turbin is reportedly visiting the Oakland Raiders for a free-agent meeting, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Turbin seemed to have a role carved out for him when he signed a two-year extension ahead of the 2017 season. However, a dislocated elbow against the Tennessee Titans halfway through the season claimed the rest of his campaign.

Still though to be a part of the backfield in 2018, Turbin was suspended for the first four games of the regular season after violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He sat out the first four games of the season but returned for the next two games against the New England Patriots and New York Jets.

Turbin was waived by the Colts on Nov. 9, 2018, after he took just four carries for 10 yards in two games. His spot was taken by rookie defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis, who was activated from the injured reserve list.

Turbin is a short-yardage back that excelled in third-and-short situations for the Colts while adding impressive pas protection.
