Report: Ex-Broncos LB Deiontrez Mount cited for simple assault of Uber driver

Former Denver Broncos linebacker Deiontrez Mount was cited for simple assault after an incident involving an Uber driver, according to KUSA-TV’s Nate Lynn.

The Uber driver says he pulled over after Mount canceled a ride on March 24 and told him to get out of the car. Mount allegedly refused to get out of the car, telling the driver to drop him off at a different location.

After he drove to a different location, parked and opened the back door of the vehicle, the driver again told Mount to exit the car. The driver and Mount then got into a physical altercation before the driver got back into his vehicle and drove away and called police, according to court documents.

After being cited for simple assault, Mount was released.

Mount entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Louisville with the Tennessee Titans in 2015. After short stints with the Titans and Indianapolis Colts, Mount signed with the Broncos during preseason in 2017.

Mount dressed for seven games in 2017, recording seven tackles. He had a shot to make the 2018 roster as a special teams contributor before he suffered an Achilles injury during the offseason. After spending all of last season on injured reserve, Mount became a free agent earlier this month.
