Report: Eric Rowe will leave Patriots to sign with Dolphins

The New England Patriots are losing yet another member of their organization to the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Rowe will join Miami on a one-year deal worth $3.5 million.

Rowe dealt with injuries during his tenure with New England. In his three years with the team, he played no more than nine games in a season. In 2018, he played in just three. That was after the team seemed to name him the No. 2 cornerback on the roster. Rowe was taking starting snaps over Jason McCourty and J.C. Jackson before Rowe’s injury. When that happened, McCourty and, eventually, Jackson took over the role.

If Rowe can stay healthy, he should be a positive contributor in Miami, and perhaps even a starter. His value could prove excellent for the Dolphins — if Rowe stays healthy.
