Is Musselman headed to Arkansas?

Nevada head coach Eric Musselman is reportedly a “serious candidate” for the Arkansas head coaching vacancy, per Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

The position became vacant after Arkansas parted ways with Mike Anderson, who had been with the program as the head coach since the 2011-12 season. Anderson guided the Razorbacks to the NCAA Tournament in 2015, 2017, and 2018, winning two games over the three outings.

Musselman has spent the last four years at Nevada, where he has taken a nine-win program to a CBI championship in his first year, and an NCAA Tournament appearance in two of the previous three seasons. In 2018, the Wolf Pack reached the Sweet 16 after defeating Texas and Cincinnati after dramatic comebacks.

Nevada has a combined 110-34 win-loss record under the four-year direction of Musselman. His energetic style and transfer-heavy rosters have led to dominance at the mid-major level and have left many wondering if and when he would jump to a high-major position.

Prior to Nevada, Musselman also made stops as the LSU associate head coach, Arizona State assistant and associate head coach, the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, and other positions as well.
