Report: Eagles to extend 2nd-round tender to Nate Sudfeld

The Nate Sudfeld era has begun in Philadelphia, and it’ll cost you a hefty price to pry the Eagles new backup quarterback away. According to Adam Caplan, the Eagles will extend a second-round restricted free agent tender on Sudfeld.

For the Eagles, it basically means if another team extends an offer sheet to Sudfeld, the Eagles will have five days to match that offer. If the Eagles let Sudfeld walk — which is highly unlikely — the Eagles will gain a second-round pick for Sudfeld joining another organization.

Sudfeld, who is expected to be the Eagles backup quarterback could also choose to sign the tender, netting himself a one-year deal worth $3.095 million.
