Report: Eagles’ Joe Douglas set to interview for Jets vacant GM job

With the news that the Jets new general manager will have full control of the teams 53 man roster, the list for possible candidates is growing, with Joe Douglas appearing to be one of them. According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, Douglas could interview with the Jets as early as this weekend.

The Jets requested permission to interview Douglas on Friday, and per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets have also requested to interview Chicago Bears Assistant Director of Player Personnel Champ Kelly, New Orleans Saints Director of Pro Scouting Terry Fontenot, Minnesota Vikings Assistant General Manager George Paton and Seattle Seahawks Director of Player Personnel Scott Fitterer.

Douglas has run the Eagles draft board and the scouting department since joining the franchise in 2016, turning the scouting department into the NFL’s best.
