Report: Eagles ask permission to interview Titans’ Arthur Smith

The Philadelphia Eagles are the latest team that has reportedly thrown its hat in the ring in the sweepstakes to hire Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith as a head coach.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Eagles, who fired their previous head coach Doug Pederson on Monday, have requested permission to interview Smith for their new head coach vacancy.

Smith has been very busy since the Titans were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday.

His first interview, which came with the Jacksonville Jaguars, occurred just hours after Baltimore beat Tennessee, and in total Smith has had interviews with four teams, based on reports and confirmation from teams.

Per reports, Smith has met with the Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers, and both the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons have confirmed completed interviews with the Titans’ offensive coordinator.
