Report: Dwayne Haskins wore a John Elway jersey while visiting Broncos

During his pre-draft visit at the Denver Broncos’ facility earlier this week, Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins wore a throwback John Elway jersey, according to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Kalyn Kahler.

Elway won two Super Bowls during his time as the Broncos’ quarterback and he’s part of the reason why Haskins choose to wear jersey No. 7 with the Buckeyes. Elway now serves as the team’s general manager.

Elway “saw the humor in it and appreciated the gesture,” Kahler wrote.

Haskins was a one-year starter at Ohio State, winning Big Ten Player of the Year honors last season. He was also named the Rose Bowl MVP after leading his team to a 28-23 win over Washington.

Haskins is widely considered one of the top QBs in this year’s class so there’s a chance he won’t be available when Denver goes on the clock with the 10th overall pick. If Haskins is still available, though, it might be hard for Elway to pass up on a potential franchise quarterback.
