The Washington Redskins officially have first-round pick Dwayne Haskins under contract.
Haskins put ink to paper on a four-year deal with the standard fifth-year option.
Viewed as a surprise faller on draft night, the Redskins stayed put and got Haskins at No. 15, potentially solving a problem that has held the franchise back for years.
There was never any doubt Haskins would get under contract quickly. Haskins, who has the blessing of Joe Theismann to wear No. 7, is set to learn from Alex Smith while competing with Case Keenum for the starting gig. He’ll do so while comfortably connecting with third-round pick and former Ohio State teammate Terry McLaurin.
