Report: Duke QB Daniel Jones to visit with Patriots

The New England Patriots are hosting Duke quarterback Daniel Jones for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

New England has the No. 32 pick in the first round and it is likely that Jones will get drafted before then. The Patriots would have some wiggle room if they felt like Jones was worth moving up for, because of their 12 total picks that they have in this years draft. Bill Belichick hasn’t been afraid to trade up or down in the draft before, and it could be the case if they see a future franchise player in Jones.

Jones is a 6-foot-5, 220 pound quarterback that has prototypical NFL size. He  was a starter for three seasons with he Blue Devils and finished off with his best season in 2018. Jones threw for 2,674 yards, 22 touchdowns and had a 60.5 completion percentage. He did throw nine interceptions last season — but his teammates dropping 36 passes didn’t help.

He will visit with the Washington Redskins after his visit with New England.
