Report: Dolphins trade S Minkah Fitzpatrick to Steelers for 1st-round pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for a spark on defense and might have found it. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Steelers have traded a first-round pick in 2020 for Miami Dolphins defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Pittsburgh needed an impact defensive player. With safety Sean Davis continuing to struggle with injuries, Fitzpatrick could come in and form an impressive tandem with Terrell Edmunds in the secondary.

Fitzpatrick has played all positions in the defensive backfield but should find a home at free safety for the Steelers. He was the Dolphins’ first-round pick (No. 11 overall) in 2018. Last season he played in all 16 games (11 starts) and had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, with nine passes defensed.
