Report: Dolphins ‘likely’ to play vs. Cowboys on Thanksgiving

The Miami Dolphins haven’t played on Thanksgiving since 2011, but that potentially could change next season.

According to John Ourand from the Sports Business Journal, the Dolphins are “likely” to play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving on CBS. Ourand also says the Lions are also expected to host the Bears on Thanksgiving.

The Dolphins last played the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in 2011 when they lost 20-19 at AT&T Stadium. The two teams have also played on Thanksgiving in 2004, 1999, 1993 and 1973.

Considering the Dolphins lackluster record during national television games the previous few seasons, it would be a bit of a surprise if they were to play in the coveted Thanksgiving spot.

In addition to playing the Cowboys on the road in 2019, the Dolphins will play the Giants at MetLife Stadium. They will also host the Redskins and Eagles at Hard Rock Stadium.
