Report: Dolphins likely moving on from Cameron Wake

This one stings. Everyone knew the Dolphins intended to shuttle away a few veterans and discard of the under-performers on their roster. But Cameron Wake? The guy has been the face of the Dolphins for the last decade.

The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero is reporting that the Dolphins are likely moving on from Cameron Wake this off-season. The 37-year old pass rusher has 98 career sacks in 146 career games with the Dolphins.

Wake’s decade of dominance is even more stunning when considering that he was an undrafted free agent out of Penn State, who then played several seasons in Canada before half of the league courted him in 2009.

Wake ultimately chose the Dolphins and his speed and explosiveness have been a presence on Miami’s front four ever since.

But now, with the Dolphins looking to get younger and more frugal with their cash, the aging star will likely be playing elsewhere in 2019.

If Wake has to go, here’s hoping he goes somewhere and wins a Super Bowl. He deserves as much.
