It’s not entirely unexpected, but it appears Browns standout CB Denzel Ward will not be active for Sunday night’s matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicates Ward will be among the Browns’ inactives for the game.
Schefter made the pronouncement on the ESPN pregame show on Sunday morning. Ward was officially listed as questionable for the Week 3 matchup.
He did not practice all week because of a hamstring injury. There was hope the Pro Bowler could heal up enough to face the high-powered Rams offense, but it was not meant to be.
Veteran Terrance Mitchell figures to get the start in Ward’s absence. No word yet on if rookie Greedy Williams, also questionable with a hamstring, will play.
