Report: Deal for potential Titans WR target Antonio Brown expected to be in place Friday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter released a report last week indicating the Tennessee Titans were one of the NFL’s three most interested teams in Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

On Wednesday morning, Schefter took to Twitter with another report saying that all teams in the race for Brown had been informed a deal should be in place by Friday.

The situation surrounding Brown and the Titans looks a bit hazy, as head coach Mike Vrabel did make some comments during the combine that made it seem as if the Titans were wary of Brown’s off-the-field antics.

“We treat everybody fairly, but we treat them differently,” Vrabel said of the culture in Tennessee. “There’s some things you can put up with as a coach and a team, and there’s some things you can’t. I think that it’s important that any time you bring in somebody… you just have to make sure you know and are comfortable with what you’re getting.”

Even so, it’s hard to deny the instant surge of energy and sheer speed on the perimeter he would bring to a slowly rising Titans offense desperately in need of an established playmaker.

It will be interesting to see if the Titans are the club that ultimately lands Brown at the end of the week.
