Report: Colts worked out WR Brandon Marshall

The Indianapolis Colts were busy on their day off from training camp practice. After bringing in Mike Gillislee for a workout, the Colts reportedly also brought in veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall for a workout, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

With such a crowded wide receiver room and competition going on throughout training camp, it is a bit odd to see the Colts bring in Marshall for a workout.

The six-time Pro Bowler certainly has had a career of success, but he has been limited to just 12 games over the last two seasons while recording just 29 receptions.

The Colts have a crowded wide receiver room behind T.Y. Hilton with Devin Funchess and Parris Campbell likely having locked spots. This would make three extra spots open for competition at the max. Marshall likely doesn’t fit into those plans.

Marshall has played the last two seasons with the New York Giants (2017) and Seattle Seahawks (2018).

However, the Colts are still going to do their due diligence on players as the season gets closer. It would still be more of a surprise if Marshall signed with the Colts.
