Report: Colts to host QB David Fales

The Indianapolis Colts have officially trimmed their roster down to 53 players and while there weren’t many surprises, they will be looking to make some changes in the upcoming days.

Among those changes to be expected will come at the quarterback position. With Chad Kelly suspended, Jacoby Brissett is the only healthy and eligible quarterback on the roster. This will cause the Colts to check out the quarterback market.

They are doing so by reportedly bringing in veteran David Fales for a visit, per Stephen Holder of The Athletic.

A sixth-round pick with the Chicago Bears, Fales has played sparingly throughout his career. He’s spent time with the Baltimore Ravens (2016), Bears (2016), Miami Dolphins (2017–2018) and the Detroit Lions (2019). Fales was waived by the Lions on Tuesday.

He’s only attempted 48 passes while appearing in three games throughout his career.

The Colts will need a backup for Brissett for at least the first two games of the regular season while Kelly serves his suspension, so this will be a situation to monitor over the next few days.
