Report: Colts tender WR Marcus Johnson

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly tendering an offer to wide receiver Marcus Johnson, who is an exclusive rights free agent, per Stephen Holder of The Athletic.

Being an exclusive rights free agent, Johnson can either sign the tender that has been applied or sit out the season. This means he’s going to be added back to the wide receiver room while competing for a spot in 2019.

Johnson was traded to the Colts from the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 1, 2018. The 24-year-old appeared in five games while recording six receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Week 6.

Head coach Frank Reich has a history with Johnson and has always been a fan. With depth needed at wide receiver, the Colts add Johnson to the competition for 2019.
