Report: Colts’ Pierre Desir (bone bruise) expected to miss time

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Pierre Desir suffered a bone bruise on his knee during the 19-17 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and is expected to miss some time.

Desir suffered the injury early during the third quarter of the game and was first ruled questionable to return. A few minutes later, Desir was ruled out for the rest of the game.

It appears that—while Desir avoided major injury—he will be missing some time, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Colts have some depth at cornerback. Filling in for Desir, who worked mostly on the boundary, will likely be rookie cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. The second-round pick stepped in during the game when Desir left.

Desir has meant a lot to the Colts’ secondary, holding the role as the veteran leader in the cornerback room. Now, they will see just how much depth they have.
