Report: Colts’ Malik Hooker suffered torn meniscus

Indianapolis Colts safety Malik Hooker suffered a torn meniscus during the 27-24 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and is expected to miss some time.

Hooker played 70% of the snaps on Sunday and even finished the game after suffering the injury. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Hooker is expected to miss 4–6 weeks due to the injury.

This is a big blow to the Colts defense. Hooker has been playing well to open the season and is a big reason why teams don’t like to take deep shots against the defense down the field.

Hooker has played the second-most snaps of any Colts defender through the first three games of the season but now will have to work his way back from a torn meniscus.

In his place, rookie Khari Willis is likely to see the biggest uptick in snaps while Clayton Geathers resumes his regular starting role. George Odum could also see some time at free safety.
