Report: Colts have received trade calls about 34th pick

The Indianapolis Colts were busy dealing away the No. 26 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night, but that wasn’t the only one of their picks they received calls about.

Even before the first round of the draft ended, the Colts reportedly were already receiving trade calls asking about the team’s first pick in the second round at No. 34, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard is keeping an open mind about trading back again from No. 34. Because it is such a valuable spot with some prospects falling at big positions like quarterback and cornerback, it is almost come to be expected that a trade will happen.

Ballard noted just how valuable this pick is when he addressed the media Thursday night. He expects a lot of attraction to come with the spot, especially for teams like the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals who could be looking to move up to take Missouri quarterback Drew Lock.

Either one of those deals would move the Colts back into the early 40s while having the Nos. 46, 59 and 89 set for the rest of the day.

It remains to be seen if a deal will happen when the Colts begin the second round, but there is a high chance Indy moves back yet again in the draft.
