Report: Colts fear RB Marlon Mack has torn Achilles

The Indianapolis Colts reportedly are worried that running back Marlon Mack suffered a torn Achilles during the Week 1 opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

After catching a pass over the middle from Philip Rivers, Mack suffered a non-contact injury and immediately when to the ground. He was helped off the field and eventually carted to the locker room.

The Colts ruled out Mack for the rest of the game during halftime, but given the obvious pain and non-contact aspect, a torn Achilles was feared to be a possibility.

Mack was looking good before the injury. He was active in the passing game with three receptions in the first half while leading the Colts in carries at the time of his injury.

With Mack out, rookie second-round pick Jonathan Taylor will work on early downs while pass-catcher Nyheim Hines will be very active as a favorite target of Rivers.
