Report: Cincinnati Bengals won’t change logo during jersey redesign

The Cincinnati Bengals will unveil redesigned jerseys soon and made a point to announce the team won’t change the iconic striped helmets.

The fate of the “B” logo was a mystery.

Until now, it seems. According to The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. on the most recent episode of “Hear That Podcast Growling,” the Bengals won’t be making a change to the logo.

Dehner noted the following: “The logo is not changing. The ‘B’ is staying, so the field will still have the ‘B’ with the stripes on it.”

A shame, as we recently went in-depth on why the Bengals should consider a logo change alongside the jersey redesign. At it’s most basic, the “B” is an odd fit in a city where the MLB team properly has a “C” for the city of Cincinnati — and a team name like Bengals could get creative in fun ways besides a letter for the logo.

Either way, there’s a sense of closure on this topic as the Bengals inch closer to unveiling the jersey redesigns near the draft.
