Report: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce ‘good to go’ for training camp

As quarterbacks, rookies and injured players report to training camp today, the Chiefs have one key player on offense who has been out with injury throughout OTAs and minicamp.

That player is star tight end Travis Kelce, who has been recovering from offseason ankle surgery. The surgery was not major and has previously been described as a cleanup.

According to a report from NFL Network’s James Palmer, Kelce is “good to go” for training camp. The team hopes to get Kelce some extra repetitions to knock the rust off ahead of when the full team reports to camp on Friday. He has not practiced with the team this offseason.

Kelce is coming off a season in which he briefly set the NFL’s record for receiving yards by a tight end. He also set career highs in receptions and touchdowns.

Patrick Mahomes confirmed during his press conference today that Kelce would be back out there. It will be good for him to get some repetitions with Mahomes and continue to build upon that great chemistry that the two shared in 2018.
