Report: Chiefs had seven false positive COVID tests on Sunday morning

We have seen as the COVID numbers keep spiking up across America that it’s also affecting the NFL — just ask the Ravens about that over the last couple of weeks. When you have your Thanksgiving night game moved to the (deep breath) following Sunday, to the following Monday, to the following Tuesday to (finally, mercifully) the following Wednesday, and you now have a Tuesday night game against the Cowboys as a result of your double-digit positive COVID tests, things can get a bit weird.

Well, per Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, fresh off their 27-24 win over the Buccaneers last Sunday, very nearly had their Week 13 thrown into an absolute tizzy.

Per Glazer, there was an issue with the tests at the lab… but for a while, the Chiefs didn’t know if they’d have enough coaches for Week 13.

Fortunately, all appears to be well for Andy Reid’s team, who take on the Broncos on Sunday night. As has been the case for the league and the country, all we can do is work the protocols as best we can and hope against hope for a lack of any major disasters. The Broncos, who were forced to elevate Kendall Hilton from their practice squad last week against the Saints because none of their four quarterbacks followed the league’s protocols, could tell you all about that.
