Report: Melvin Gordon ending holdout, reporting to Chargers on Thursday

The time has finally come.

Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is ending his holdout and is reporting to the team on Thursday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, though he will not play in Week 4.

Earlier today, we found out that Gordon was going to end the holdout sooner than October, which was the original return date.

Gordon will likely make his debut in Week 5 against the Broncos.

Gordon is in the final year of his rookie deal and has been seeking a contract in the range of $13 million to $14 million in average annual salary.

It’ll be good for Los Angeles to have another one of their playmakers back on the field, but it’s unknown whether the team will raise its original offer of $10 million per year. Gordon is in the fifth year of his rookie deal and was slated to make $5.6 million this season.
