One of the vital cogs to the Los Angeles’ Chargers defense is going to miss significant time. Defensive back Derwin James suffered a meniscus injury during practice Sunday and will be lost for an extended period.

James, who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie in 2018, played five games in 2019, missing much of the early part of the season. On Aug.15, it was revealed that James had been dealing with a stress fracture in his right foot. The injury required surgery, requiring a maximum of three months to recover. He was placed on IR Sept. 1. He was designated for return from IR Nov, 25, and was activated five days later.
An intriguing prospect?
The #Chargers play the same system as the #Seahawks with DC Gus Bradley. Earl Thomas is still a free agent. Would be an intriguing option for LAC if they felt compelled to go with a veteran replacement for Derwin James.
