Report: Chargers’ Derwin James to make season debut in Week 13

Chargers safety Derwin James is eyeing a Week 13 return against the Broncos, which would be after the team’s bye week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

James, who had to have surgery on his right foot over the summer, is already running pain-free, and it shouldn’t be much longer until he is able to return to practice on a limited basis.

Once he and his teammate Adrian Phillips are lifted from the injured reserve, they will be a huge boost to Los Angeles’ defense.

With that, it’ll be on the Chargers to pull out wins against the Raiders and Chiefs the next two weeks to ensure that they’re getting the two star safeties back while still being in playoff contention.

In 2018, James started all 16 games and finished with 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions and 13 passes defended en route to being named first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.
